Fixstars Partners with ATTRAC LAB to Develop Application-Specific Drones Leveraging Physical AI and Autonomous Driving Technologies

IRVINE, California – July 31, 2026 – Fixstars Corporation (TSE Prime: 3687, US Headquarters: Irvine, CA), a leading company in performance engineering technology, today announced that it has begun a collaboration with ATTRAC LAB CO., LTD., a field-robotics system integrator (SIer) specializing in drones and autonomous mobile platforms, to develop application-specific drones and provide demonstration support by leveraging Physical AI and autonomous driving software technologies.
Across a wide range of operational settings-including inspection, surveillance, disaster response, surveying, and logistics-the two companies will support the development, proof-of-concept (PoC), and on-site field validation of drones optimized to specific business requirements.
Roles of Fixstars and ATTRAC LAB in Application-Specific Drone Development
Fixstars
Drawing on more than 20 years of expertise and know-how in embedded development, together with its capabilities in AI model development such as image recognition and autonomous driving, Fixstars will lead the development of the software that serves as the drone’s “brain.”
Centered on its video analysis and edge AI development technologies, Fixstars will implement capabilities such as recognition of the surrounding environment, object detection, anomaly detection, path planning, and flight decision-making.
ATTRAC LAB
Leveraging its expertise in unmanned-system design, low-volume manufacturing, and field operations, ATTRAC LAB will be responsible for airframe development.
Building on a track record that spans not only drones but a wide range of autonomous mobile platforms-including autonomous vehicles and unmanned vessels-ATTRAC LAB will design airframes and systems suited to real-world operating environments.
It also handles payload (onboard equipment) design, providing support from PoC through to field validation.

Going forward, the two companies will advance the development of demonstration units that integrate various sensors and AI technologies, accelerating the PoC deployment of application-specific drones in fields such as inspection, surveillance, disaster response, and logistics.
